The US imports crude oil and exports refined products, this is a good thing if you are a refinery worker or otherwise employed in a downstream field, that is how advanced economies work, take in raw materials, send out value added finished products. If and when the oil supply increases above worldwide demand the price will fall, period, it does not matter where the oil is produced for this to happen.
