: I have a 8N that looses power under a load . : It also does not accelerate properly. : I removed the governor and it is worn. : Will this cause it to do this ? : Does the governor have to be in time . : If so where are the timing marks. yes, a slow governor will allow the engine to slow down under load. You can buy new balls for it. other parts are available too. or you can get rebuilt. the governor does not have to be in time. I can't remember if it drives the distributer. If it does it will need to be timed. there are usually punch marks on the gears. just line them up. sometimes 2 mark the valley between teeth and 1 on tooth to match. Rob
