In the '70s I worked for IBM as a tech. At that time there was a lot of electrical-mechanical card machines around that naturally would break down sometimes. Imagine my surprise when I came in to fix one once and was told that OSHA forbid us to take the covers off because they were dangerous. Guess they expected us to just wave a magic wand over it. They have always been idiots.
