The problem with political discussions is they ALWAYS get out of hand. "Civil political discussion" is an oxymoron.
That gas price thread stopped being about gas prices, and started being about politics, then devolved into name-calling.
The moderators give us a HUGE amount of leeway on this forum. It is "Tractor Talk" after all... We're supposed to be talking about TRACTORS, not politics, yet they let it slide until things get messy.
Count the "poofed" threads among your many blessings. Odds are if they were allowed to continue we wouldn't all be friends anymore.
