Removed the 3pt hitch assembly from a heavy duty cultivator and married up a big DMI ripper shank. Plan was to go around the field next to the wooded areas and cut the tree roots. It proved nearly impossible to go deep enough the first pass. Changing the angle with the third link helped some but not enough. Usually would work OK on the second pass but didn't like second passes. Had a couple of 200 lbs friends stand on the ripper and that solved the problem. Wasn't a good long term solution. Later added a heavy peg that I could put a couple of 325 lb MM weights.
