I would listen to them when I drove truck. I would get them at the library and go through a couple books a week. If you are traveling you can rent them at Cracker Barrel and return them at any store. I had a portable cassette player, which I still use. I could hit start and stop and always keep my place in the book. I retired from my truck driving job but still do a book every few weeks around home instead of watching the crap you get on TV. I guess I'm like my grand kids and I like to be read to rather than reading a book to myself.
