Good friend of mine has a 80's GMC Astro with a cummins, however, I know it's not a L-10, but doing the same thing..
They diagnosed his as having a bad head(s).. It's in the shop now gettin worked on.. He has not said if it was in fact the head, or something else.
I ran a Terra-Gator for a few years that had the L-10 in it, however, we never had that problem since I been here (but seeing them kind of hours, I'm sure they've dealt with it a time or 2.. The gator I ran had nearly 20k hours on it)
