I don't know about the steering but I had one in the shop last year that the mesh was a rusty plugged mess. They had the right product at the store on this site. I believe it took 3 rolls and I had to die grind the spot welds that held the bottom cover on and then brazed those spots after cleaning and refilling with the new mesh. Good Luck, Andy
