302 isnt the best for pulling. its more of a performace engine. id look along the lines of a 351 or a 460 if you want a gas engine. all my f150s have a 300 and they are almost bullet proof. with what you say your gonna haul a 302 would work i think but in an f250 your not gonna beable to do to much. a 460 is a hog but they got great power.
