Am I just being to much of a cheap skate?

Replacing gauges on Oliver 77 RC with correct ones. Existing gauges work fine and plan on reusing them in some other equipment.

Issue is Temp Gauge. Where the sensor mounts in the block I cannot get a good bite with open end wrench. Wanting to reuse the gauge but not wishing to cut the wire to put on a socket or box end wrench.

Wife is laughing at how cheap I am being. My question is this - If wire is cut can it be soldered back together and be reused or once cut it is no good. This is the wire from sensor running to gauge.
