We are in southern MO. Every year, in order to have early new potatoes for the farmers markets, I lay an 16x100 sheet of greenhouse plastic down to warm the soil. This is usually early in February. We did this yesterday. When seed potatoes become available locally in about two weeks, we should be able to get a few hundred feet of potatoes planted right off the bat. Unless of course winter decides to make a belated appearance.
