My dad always tried to plant them the middle of February and usually made a good crop. I planted in January once and did OK. The last few years I have waited and planted later and not done too well. I feel like I need to get them in the ground now while I can and will just keep hilling them up till chance of frost is past. Will try to post pics of planting later. Richard in the foothills Of SC
