My brother and I attended an auction on Tuesday and he purchased a set of rear tires/rims. We attempted to add air today, one will not hold air and the other one will not take air. We removed the valve core and ran a drill about 6" into the tire. The tire appears to be filled with some type of foam and it still will not take air, even after drilling. The tires have flat spots so the foam has broken down or what ever. Upon closer inspection both tires are full of thorns which have cut off or broken even with the tire surface.
My question: is it typical the add foam for use around thorns? We don"t have any thorns and would just add tubes - how does one de-mount the tires?
