HI Dave I have a Cannon A620 that has a screen monitor and a view finder (peephole). You don't have to use the monitor if you don't want to. This is not a cheap camera, I think it was about $400 a few years ago. I suspect some of the cheaper cameras today don't have view finders but you'll only find out by shopping. If you go to a store like Future Shop they will help you find what you want. If you go to a camera store you'll wind with more than you need and something that may be difficult to use without a lot of studying the manual and practicing.
