We could easily steer this discussion to the urbanization of societies, the need for food production, the very small number of farmers, and the resulting need for gargantuan equipment. The rest of the industrialized world benefits from American and Canadian sized equipment. But they lack the infrastructure (public roads) the new world has. etc. :)
