I would have the oil checked out. If it is okay at start up and drops when running, you could be getting a dillution of fuel. It might not show up as an engine oil gain right away, but it would eventually. Also todays oils lack quality control. They may can a lot of oil and no one ever checks a blending proportioner until it breaks down. They buy base oils on the spot market these days and there can be a huge difference between batches.
