I have an IH 674 diesel. Couple months ago, I was losing oil pressure. Oil level was going UP, so I had the fuel injection pump seal replaced. Now, maybe 10 hours later, I am again losing oil pressure, but the oil level is staying steady. The tractor starts fine, oil pressure immediately starts up fine, goes up to about half on the mechanical guage, but once it warms up it starts a slow, steady drop to almost nothing. If I shut it down and let it cool off, it starts back out at normal pressure again, then drops. I also noticed a new oil leak from the smaller plate (4X6") in front of the large oil pan plate on the bottom of the tractor at the same time this problem started. The leak isn't much, maybe a teaspoon to a tablespoon a day? Could these two things be related? Is this an oil pump problem? I am in WI, using Rotella 15W40, and an engine block heater.
