Thanks for posting that part about lending a tractor. I hear this story over and over. I think the reason we lend stuff is because we think the borrower will take as good as care of it as we do. That's just not the case. I learned the hard way too. I lent our D8H to a fellow contractor across the street because he was in a jam, had a bunch of trucks hauling in and couldn't get rid of the dirt fast enough. Now the engine is smoked. He's not going to do anything about it. If you really want to help someone, go do the job yourself. Why subject yourself to a crap shoot?
