Case IH 1680 combine with the Cummins engine. The exhaust gaskets are leaking, so I need to replace them. Have until the first part of July to get it done, so I don't have to do it all at once. I was thinking I could put some penetrating oil, (maybe Kroil, I've heard good things about it) every couple days and let it set to get it soaked up real good. Do this for a couple weeks maybe. Then would it be a good idea or not to start it up and get it warmed up good and then try to loosen the bolts while it is hot? Always hear about people putting heat to something to try to get it loose. Was just wondering if starting the engine to get it hot would do the same thing? Any other ideas would be most welcome.
