Ive had to replace all the brake lines and hoses on my Ford.That will happen to any truck or car.Our local mechanic showed me some brake tubing that wont rust and is very soft.There are plastic covered lines that stand up well.Had an 89 Mercury with coated lines.Ford trucks have lines between the chassis and gas tank that you cant see.Ford trucks are known for burning up because of a bad cruise control switch on the master cylinder.I disconnected mine when I bought the truck.The Ford chassis is pretty weak when new.You will find the bumper ready to fall off on many of them.My son has a 3/4 ton 06 GMC.He had brake lines replaced at 100,000 miles.Friend had a Ranger that blew a brake line at 60,000.Pay a mechanic to put any truck you are considering buying up on a lift for a close inspection.
