My wife has a 2003 Limited, bought it new. No real problems, has 140K on it now. Tires, brakes, exhaust system, struts and shocks, had a rear axle seal go. Been a really good vehicle. Good in the snow, decent mileage, comfortable. The only thing I'd say isn't "great" is the heat - takes a long time to warm up the interior, and the defroster will not keep the windshield thawed in a snow storm.
Will probably be trading hers in this spring for another one, if that tells you anything.
Escapes are the same vehicle as the Tribute, different sheet metal.
