Don't know if this is appropriate or would help at all- on my WD45, after I smashed my thumb trying to drive the steering shaft out of the u-joint down inside the frame- I discovered that with someone pulling and turning on the shaft, while I held my air/hammer against the u-joint, it practically fell apart.
