B&D is 100% correct. This board has seen these whiny post complaining about a Deere part which fits 60, 70, 80 year-old tractors and its price. Try getting an OEM part from a Cockshutt dealer tomorrow. Or go to a Ford or Chevy dealer and get a part for a Model T or a '58 Delray with a fuel injected 283.
You don't like the price a Deere dealer charges, find a new hobby or a new brand tractor. Maybe start collecting Farmalls and then you can go to a dealer and get parts for it. Wait a minute, IH went belly-up, so that IH dealer might not be around anymore......maybe try Case, but parts for even the VAC are very limited at best.
Try collecting antique snowmobiles and see how expensive parts are. Oh, and that's if you can find OEM parts for it.
