Did you get much snow in your area this year? Are used snowblowers selling fast at any price or are they staying on the market for a long time unless the price is very low?
Here in cental Minnesota our biggest snowstorm so far this season was only 1 inch. We don't have enough snow to cover the grass, and that will be gone by this Friday. Last year we got 100 inches of snow and had at least a foot of snow on the ground continuously from mid-November until almost April. Snowmobiles and snowblowers are selling cheaper this year than they did last year.
Normally in a heavy snow year everybody needs a snowblower or a snow scoop and every snowblower gets a lot of use. The marginal snowblowers eventually break-down and need to be repaired or replaced in a hurry. The inventory of new snowblowers sells out early, before Christmas. Once the new models sell out, the demand for good used snowblowers really goes up. So... any working snowblowers sell fast and used selling prices stay high until the season is almost over.
If you didn't get much snow yet this year, it could be that one or more snowblower dealers in your area has too much new snowblower inventory and now must heavily discount them to unload them before the season ends. The dealer can't give much money for any used trade-ins, because there is little demand for either new or used snowblowers this year. So... many more used snowblowers get listed in newspapers or Craig's List instead of being traded in, most stay on the market for a long time and used selling prices stay low until the next big snowfall.
