I would replace it. We broke the tongue on one of these absorption trailers when conducting drawbar pull on a test vehicle. Our welding shop welded it and the boss said if it breaks again he would eat it. We didn't move 50 feet and it broke again. We took it back and told him start chewing. He was a good man and he said the next one won't break. They made a new tongue from armor plate. Never had any more problems with it again. That was on the lead trailer and got the most load.
