My personal experience has been the same as Bob Huntress below. The Chevy and the Ford hold up good and are comparable. The front end parts on the Dodge are always wearing out. And they eat driveshaft center bearings like candy.
Just sold my 1989 Chevy 1 ton which ran a plow on the front in the winter and a 10,000 lb trailer in the summer. Finally wore it out. Picked up another Chevy 1 ton, dually dump truck this time.
