a chain in the tank, then strap to tractor tire and drive --makes a heck of a racket but works well. redkote is a good sealer. another option is electrolysis--I have done on a harley tank with good results, but is tricky when derusting interior of tank as you need the anode in the tank and the tank in the electrolyte solution. I wrapped the anode in a plastic net so I wouldn't ground out my battery charger. avoid rocks or nuts and bolts as they can be hard to retrieve.
