Most all of the new CD players will play an MP3 format. You can also buy a small FM transmitter. It plugs into your MP3 player and you tune into an FM station that has no station on it. My wife had one till we lost it and got along great with it. Battery lasted about 15 hours, same as her MP3 player. I'm surprised the Kia radio doesn't at least have an aux input to plug an MP3 player into.
