I'm not fond of anyone driving like an idiot. When it happens, I blame the driver and not an inanimate device.
If I had a loved one get hurt or killed by a driver who was texting - I'd want the driver hung and not the device banned.
Some people can drink a beer, read a book and pick their nose and still drive fine. There are others that have accidents often with no distractions involved whatsoever.
