In Army infantry training, the sarge said today you learn how to crawl on your belly with your weapon strapped to your back. The course was 100 yds with barb wire stretched 20 inches above ground every 3 ft. Sarge said DO NOT at anytime for any reason get up before you reach the end of the course or you will get hit. Then sarge said "get down....crawl!!!" At the same time he ordered range officers to start firing continuous gun fire just over our heads all the while you were hugging the ground making your way thru the course. This was 35 yrs ago.
