I get exactly what you are saying, and I realize by the way your post was written that it was a tongue in cheak comment. Still I've never been one to think or act a certain way just because someone else expects me too, and don't plan to ever be that way. To me that way of thinking or acting denotes a man with a character that's too weak to be 'his own man'. I say this because to act that way he must feel the need to rely on someone else to 'know how to think and feel' rather than to have the cajones to do it for himself. To me it's like watching all of these public figures nowdays that say something non PC and then jump through hoops a few days later apoligizing if they happened to offend someone. In most cases I lose all respect for someone that doesn't have the guts to speak their mind and stand behind what they say regardless of how others feel about it. Last I heard we lived in a country where we have the freedoms to think and feel any way we want, and the right to express those feelings. Heck at a time when Dec 7, and the memories of what this country went through when attacked and went to war for a number of years against an oppressive regime, is so close at hand that point ought to be driven home better than at any other time of the year.

Soooo, no offense taken at your comment.....but I still stand behind everything I said wether anyone likes it or not. Heck I'm a landowner myself, though I don't have as many acres as some of these guys have, and I gladdly let my neighbors hunt on my property. For that matter since NC doesn't allow ground hunting with a rifle I even allow them to sit on the roof of my shed in lieu of putting up a stand since there aren't that many trees really suitable for one. Too, like one post below stated when I hunted years ago you just hit the woods and hunted. Back then it was pretty much understood that if the land wasn't posted then it was OK to hunt as long as you respected the owners fences, crops, livestock, etc, etc. In nearly 20 years in the woods I never had a problem with anyone. Nowdays it's nearly impossible to find anywhere to hunt as everyone is too worried about lawsuits, or leasing the land exclusively to a hunter/hunting group in order to turn a profit. But, it's their land and as such, their right to do whaever they please with it.... I can't fault a man for covering his butt or making a dime any way he can...especially in the current economy...

In the end one thing this whole hunter/landowner discussion brings to light is that the old saying about "one bad apple spoils the 'whatever'" is still as true to today as it was when the saying got started long ago.
