Similar thing here, last year. Guy advertised an AC CA for $1500, kinda rough, especially noisy. Agreed I"d be there the next day at noon, two hours away. Showed up at 12:30 due to poor directions. He said he lived there for 25 years, couldn"t give good directions, so I got them from his wife. Tried to follow them the next day, did find his place a half hour late. He said he got an offer from someone else for 100 bucks more. I said I"m paying the advertised price, made out the check and got the trailer. When he questioned my amount on the check, I said I"m leaving, I don"t deal with people like that. He did take the check and I got the tractor, but I would have left. Interesting that it would take only three simple directions to get from town to his farm, all well-marked. Some people are just ditzy. I remember how he danced around the yard, waving the check in the air, showing his wife! Nut case- tried to scam me for 100 bucks- even if he had a real offer, a real man wouldn"t take it, when the buyer pays the advertised price.
