There was an old man who ran a junkyard and gravel business in our town for years. I had always heard that he would do just about anything to make a sale to the first customer of the day as that was his good luck. I stopped there early one morning about 30 odd years ago looking for an oldsmobile transmission, which he had, he quoted me a reasonable price and I told him I would go get the money and come back, he chased me through the yard going down on the price, I kept telling him I didn"t have that much money on me but would be back with the cash, he finally got down around 50 or 60 bucks which I did have in my pocket and he sold it to me for that price. He taught me a lesson about dealing that day even though it wasn"t the one he intended.
