Well, if there is a restriction you would see high pressure everywhere in the closed system, however on the faucet side of the line see a immediate, major drop in pressure soon as you open the faucet. Make sense?
The pressure will equalize (some drop over distance) in a few minutes when the faucet is closed, however when you open it, the pressue will be released on that end, but not beable to keep up due to the restriction. (if you have one)
Suggest you place gauge near the faucet somewhere if you can (any faucet, garden hose etc) and see if you lose lots of pressure soon as you open the line.
