I kinda doubt that. He was posted to the Mexican border forts from 1886 to 1917, then to France, then to a rocking chair. Doug McArthur's dad was the first- and only American general involved with Islamic extremism from the 1790's till recently. He was a arms purchasing inspector in the Springfield Mass area in the civil war, and never really 'fought injuns', so to be in charge of taking over Spanish control of a 1000 tropical islands, with over 5 religions-all of them hostile for one reason or another- new to him! He relyed on Kitchner and a couple French Foreign legion generals then in Vietnam for advice and ideas on dealing with Moros in the southern Philipines. The pig related ideas were the cheapest and touched a nerve quicker than all the rest. Which is why it isn't used now. too efficent. Holy wars rarely last over 7 years, that is why things are starting to wind down lately. In 21 or so years, it will all start again.
