A few years ago when I was harvesting in Saskatchewan the farmers there thought we Iowans lived in the tropics because we were 800 miles south of them. Then we told them we have seen minus 30-35 on occasion. They thought we were liars. Then one of them came to see us in January and he found out the truth. They still get colder than we do but the difference between their winter temps and our northern Iowa temps isn't all that much. Jim
