Neighbor had a 52 8N he bought new. We used to help him on the farm. You want a fun thing to do with an 8N is back a 4 wheel wagon full of hay up into a bank barn. Just loved that nice reverse road gear and the easy steering, NOT. LOL. My brothers and I would fight over who HAD to use it, the loser had too.
They where OK if you where using the three point hitch. They would do a fine job plowing if matched to the right plow.
Now the guy on here that said they had one for years that only needed overhauled once. That I would want to see. Most of them around here, that where worked hard would need the engine overhauled every other year. The dry sleeves/pistons seemed to wear out fast. The good thing was that the parts and labor was less than $300 dollars. I have several old repair bills from the local Ford dealer when he sold out. The 8N engine job was right at $275 plus fluids. It was dated March, 1965.
