This is just an educated guess, but oil has (more/less) followed the stock market up in recent weeks. I'll agree it does nor make sense though. It was $3.45 a week or so ago and $3.29 yesterday. My grocery store, Hy Vee, gives a floating discount of 1-9 cents per gallon. It was six cents off the posted price yesterday so I filled up. My only guess is they are trying to get rid of summer blend before switching to the winter blend. To make matters worse Iowa is talking about an additional 8-10 cents per gallon state tax to upgrade roads.
