I think it is we that are dimming out. When I was 20 I could see and read tiny print with a 20 watt bulb. now at 62 I need a 60 watt bulb to do the same with reading glasses. Our family Subaru has driving lights mounted low under the front bumper stock. Between those and Maximum brightness Halogen bulbs, I can again see where I am going. Flair from the beginnings of Cataracts are caused by scattering light in the cornea, or lens, or both. My wife just got a lense replacement in one eye. Very easy surgery and great recovery. Her comments "I do not remember ever having this brightness to colors and reduced fatigue driving at night". Jim
