Sounds like you are in good shape with equipment. I would not be in a hurry but the Deere 4400/4420 (almost the same combine) can be purchased cheap. Too small for most people. Most come from small farms and do not have as many hours as large combines. If you buy one at an auction take somebody with you that knows the machine and check for wear, etc. You can make some of your money back custom combining other small farms. Combines need to be storded indoors, I'd put it on hold if you don't have a barn. You have to be handy with tools, etc. to make a go (or even break even) on a small operation. The system is set up against you.
