My dog is feeling under the weather from a series of vacinations, and I have to go away for a work training for 2 weeks. The vet agreed with me to take him with me versus leaving him at the kennle for 2 weeks since the additional stress will not help him recover. I cancelled my plane reservations and will eat the costs for airfare and driving 650 miles, and my boss will probably not be too happy with me. I am attending the training anyway and no extra costs to my employer, in fact I am saving them $$$$!
I cannot let down one of my best friends! He is getting older (11) and to me, it is the only and right thing to do! Plus the training will be more bearable and I do not have to worry about my mut. I even have a pet friendly hotel that is less expensive than the original accomodations. Many people have not experienced a strong bond with an animal, which is their loss. I do not think my boss will understand, but oh well.
