It's a little while since I looked at a 35 real close... but off the top of my head I recall that the main difference between it and a 3940 was basically just in the feed rolls... and the fact that the 35 has full width knives. Beyond that the basic operating principles and adjustments would for all intents and purposes be nearly identical. So... get a 3940 book if you can't find anything else. It'll get you close. When you really get to looking at the two side by side you find that probably 75% of the machine is the same as the newer model...
