How I set the knife to shear bar on my Fox two row corn chopper. I had a traveling sharpening stone that traveled back and forth along the knife edge until all knives were sharpened as needed. Then Set each knife so a clearance of a buisness card will clear between each knifes sharp edge and the shear bar. There were no other adjustments needed for the machine to perform as expected. My Fox chopper got used more than any other harvest machine includeing the combine I think. Thru out the hay,straw and haylage,corn silage seasons the knives got checked daily and sharpened and reset many times. I replaced the knives once a year.
