bought some T&G douglas fir year before last from a BB store. Wrapped in plastic from the store. Built a gate from it a couple weeks ago. Guy that was the brains of the operation said wait a year before any coating...... Wife is getting impatient. Think it can be stained now, or needs to wait? Afraid it'll be weathered too much if we wait a year. Weathers out a nice grey but takes several years and the place our gate is gets no sun from sep-may so that = mold.
Think it can have a couple coats of good stain now?
