I wear the Red Wings, too and one old pair I still use are over 30 years old..been re-soled and Heeled a couple of times, but the Uppers are as nice as new ones... I always heat them good and Melt in all the "Snow-Seal" that the leather can absorb..cool them off, wipe them and buff to a shine.. THE BEST treatment you can give to any fine leather..Harness OR shoe leather.. I re-treat about every 12 months..maybe not that often.. Wore one pair on the Big Truck (45 States) for several years and they never cracked or got stiff from the repeated wet and Dry of driving in Winter, etc.. I can tell you "larry Mayhans" didn't last very long..but I didn't know about Snow-Seal at that time.. FWIW..! Ron..
