The injectors "seemed" good??????? The injectors can only be tested with them removed and checked on an injection tester. A bad injector can very well cause the issue you have. It can also burn a hole in the top of a new piston real fast too. As in less than an hour of use.
Why spend the money to rebuild the engine and have the pump rebuilt then not have the injectors rebuilt too. It would be like doing a tune up and putting the old spark plugs back in.
