Animals are tuffer than folks think. As for machinery, wash them off and change fluids (if contaminated) right away befpore things dry. If you think you sucked in water, take the plugs out and crank it enough to blow anything out then start and run a while. Grew up by a river that flooded and covered our whole place at least twice a year along with a bunch of campers that left stuff out. Get rid of the nasty mud right away and you should be OK for salvageing. As for the animals, you may want to consider raising a spot above grade a little for drainage with gravel or something and make you a corral type place for emergencies.
