i've said that all along, that education is the key, but what education? who determines the curricluem,us ,them ,a mixture of the two?.but then again how do you educate a entire population when as soon as our military force moves out,the local folks in power moves in and either kills the teachers who teach (so called ) western studies, or burns the schools completly?its simply a hard call.most folks dont realize that not so long ago they were building the inferstructure of their country, had one of the highest educated publics in the world ,higher even than our own.when the russians moved in they were well on their way to becoming a real country on the world scene, despite having less rescources than most.and we also tend to forget it was the US that set the taliban up in power DESPITE a large portion of the afgan public being against it.while we mourn for our nations soldiers who were killed there, you really have to remember that quite a number of those lost this weekend were afgans, volunteer soldiers just like ours, with even more at stake, fighting for their freedoms right along side our own.I think we tend to forget them ,,
