For the longest time PA game commission refused that they did any such thing. Then an article was published in a reputable hunting magazine about the trade that we made with Michigan or some mid western state as turkeys for coyotes.... Now they are everywhere around PA. Thanks Game Commission for that brilliant move. But they also are hurting our pheasant and grouse populations. When I started hunting about 10 years ago you would see 60-100 deer a day. Now its maybe 10-20 on the best of days. So Now we all go coyote hunting to help cut the populations down.
