The confusion about the Agriomatic may be the TWO functions of the lever. 1) High/Low of transmission. The lever in the horizontal position keeps the transmission in High. The lever in any position between 45 degrees and vertical keeps the transmission in Low. 2) Operation of the Agriomatic clutch. Moving from the 45 degrees position to the vertical position engages the Agriomatic clutch and vice versa. (You may do this very slowly either way, because it is a wet clutch and is designed to take considerable slipping - as opposed to MOST other clutches. (I've learned, for instance, that Torque Amplyfier clutches do not like being feathered.)) HTH even more...
